Altalena di Cera

Candya is an Italian musical project born from the ashes of Trees, a Neapolitan band that disbanded in 2005. The trio is composed of Francesco Candia (guitar), his cousin Nino Candia (bass), and Davide Fusco (drums, and vocals on “Sonia”). All three musicians came from the Trees experience and decided to give life to this side-project to explore different sonorities, moving towards an intimate folk dimension that diverges from their previous work. “Altalena di Cera”, released in 2012 by Ark Records, collects ten tracks revolving around themes of memory, loss and the slow passage of time, with three songs (“Children”, “Bride To Your Groom” and “Stay Gold”) featuring guest vocals and lyrics by Paolo D’Addio. The album is dedicated to the painter Davide Minetti and was greeted by the magazine Darkroom as “another pearl in the Ark Records necklace”, confirming the label’s continuous flow of remarkable releases.
